tires

The black gold - Whether PU tyres, sponge rubber soft, hard, Black Magic or Pro-Comp - here you will find all tyres from the market leaders. We deliberately do without various small suppliers so as not to create too much confusion. Fairness comes first - everyone with the same tyres - that's better! Ortmann and sponge rubber can be mixed up without any problems, don't take our word for it, we've been driving like this for more than 25 years!

Tips for running sponge rubber tyres on Carrera tracks - Keep your track clean and dust-free! Stick double-sided adhesive tape on a straight track so that the cars pick up the dust on the track and release it again on the adhesive tape. Remove the tyres regularly with tape to get the dirt and dust off the track. After use, keep the tyres sealed in a zip-lock bag or in a film canister to keep them soft. The sponge rubber tyre needs time at the beginning. You will think ‘What has he sold me there?’ after a while you will start to grin and then the grin will get bigger and bigger ;o) It is quicker to apply Scaleauto tyre cleaner SC5300 or 5301, an oil-based liquid that makes the sponge rubber supple and moist.

Tips for running Ortmann tyres on Carrera tracks - Keep your track clean and dust-free! Stick double-sided adhesive tape on a straight track so that the cars pick up the dust on the track and release it again on the adhesive tape. Strip the tyres with wet sandpaper (grit 1000-5000) before each race. Abralon sanding pads, which are available in our shop, have proven to be very effective.
